SubjectEnhanced supervision: Monitoring of Clients’ Funds lying with the Stock Broker for the week ended January 17, 2020

This is further to SEBI Circular No. SEBI/HO/MIRSD/MIRSD2/CIR/2016/95 dated September 26, 2016, SEBI/HO/MIRSD/MIRSD2/CIR/P/2016/138 dated December 20, 2016, CIR/HO/MIRSD/MIRSD2/CIR/P/2017/64 dated June 22, 2017, CIR/HO/MIRSD/MIRSD2/CIR/PB/2017/107 dated September 25, 2017, and Exchange Notice Nos. 20160927-41 dated September 27, 2016, 20161221-20 dated December 21, 2016, 20170623-14 dated June 23, 2017, 20170925-34 dated September 25, 2017, 20171129-19 dated November 29, 2017 respectively on the captioned subject.

As per aforesaid circulars, stock brokers are required to submit the data on clients funds lying with stock brokers on weekly basis i.e. stock brokers shall submit the data as on last trading day of every week on or before the next three trading days.

Accordingly, Stock brokers are requested to upload the data as on January 17, 2020 by January 22, 2020 under the following link:-

The data to be submitted and source/path for this purpose, along with necessary clarifications, is enclosed as (Annexure – 1).

Exchange has also provided a provision of bulk upload facility. The file format of the same is attached as (Annexure – 2). The file has to be in CSV comma separate format. The naming convention of the CSV file must be as:- Clg No_ddmmyyyy.csv (Clg no. to be without zero and date should be date of submission).

A user manual (Annexure - 3) for submitting the information is enclosed for ready reference.

Please be informed that non/late submission would attract Penalties/disciplinary action as per BSE Notice No. 20180214-31 dated February 14, 2018 as below:-

Ø Delay/non-submission in case of weekly submission :


1.      Submission within 10 calendar days from the    due date – Rs. 500/- per day

2.     Submission beyond 10 calendar days from    

   the due date – Rs. 1000/- per day


In case of non-submission for consecutive 4 weeks – New client registration to be restricted

In case of non-submission for consecutive 8 weeks – 2 weeks’ notice shall be given to the Member subsequent to which the Member shall be disabled in all segments by the Exchange.
