SubjectEnhancements in Trading System APIs – Equity, Equity Derivatives, Currency Derivatives and Commodity Derivatives segments
Content

Trading Members of the Exchange please note that it is proposed to provide certain enhancements in the Exchange’s trading system. For this purpose, some changes in the IML & ETI API structures shall be required. New versions of IML & ETI API & IML exe shall be made available to support the changes.

It is proposed to provide preference in order cancellation (active or passive order) in case of STPC (Self-trade Prevention Check) match.

Changes applicable for IML and ETI API users given below -

ETI API

New version of ETI API 1.6.4 is introduced wherein the order related messages have new field STPCFlag (30651) introduced to accept the preference from the members. The user has to fill the preference in each order request. The order request will be rejected if the field is not filled. Refer the change log section of ETI API 1.6.4 for more details.

The above changes are optional. The existing member applications based on ETI API 1.6.3 will continue to be operational without any change and the STPC applicable for such members will be the default implementation i.e. active order cancel in all cases.

Thus both the ETI API 1.6.3 and 1.6.4 will co-exist and member application using current format and applications using new formats will continue to be supported by the Exchange.

IML API

New version of IML API 7.14 is introduced wherein a filler field in the order related messages is used to accept the STPC preference from the members. The user has to fill the preference in each order request. A new IML exe ver. 12.10 would be required to be installed to facilitate the change.

The above changes are optional. The existing member applications using IML exe ver. 12.00 will continue to be operational without any change in order messages and the STPC applicable for such members will be the default implementation i.e. active order cancel in all cases. Even if the preference field is filled in ‘filler’ field, it will not be considered and current implementation will be applicable.

Both the IML version exe 12.00 and 12.10 will co-exist i.e. the member applications using IML version 12.00 can continue to use the existing messages (as per IML API 7.13) and member application using 12.10 will have to mandatorily specify the preference in order messages (as per changes specified in IML API version 7.14). Refer the change log section of IML API 7.14 for more details.

Going forward, ETI API 1.6.4, New IML API 7.14 & New IML Exe 12.10 will be made mandatory with advance notification via separate circular.

All vendors and members having in-house developed trading application may kindly note that the above-mentioned enhancements shall be made as optional release in the live environment as per the following schedule –

·               Currency Derivatives segment - with effect from Monday April 1, 2019 (Mock trading on Saturday, March 30, 2019).

·               Equity, Equity Derivatives & Commodity segments – with effect from Monday April 15, 2019.  (Mock trading on Saturday, April 13, 2019).
