This has reference to Exchange notice no.20180830-31 dated August 30, 2018 on Standardization of Register of Securities, Holding Statement, Bank Book and Client Ledger which included Annexures - Formats for Register of Securities, Holding Statement, Bank Book and Client Ledger were enclosed as Annexure A. &      Guidelines on its implementation as Annexure B for reference.

 

Based on the representation received from the Stock Brokers associations and in consultation with the SEBI, the guidelines for maintenance of standardised books required to be maintained by Stock Broker has been revised.

 

Accordingly, Annexure B is revised to be named as Revised Guidelines on standardisation of Register of Securities, Holding Statement, Bank Book and Client Ledger.

Further each sub part is annexed as  B1, B-2, B-3, B-4  & B-5 ( Amendment summary) is as below:

Further, it may be noted that provisions of this notice shall not be applicable to Professional Clearing Member (PCM).

 

 The periodicity of reporting day-wise Holding Statement shall be weekly. Further, submissions of the above data shall be done for all calendar days of that week on or before the next four trading days of the subsequent week. Stock broker are requested to note that the circular shall be applicable w.e.f. January 01, 2019. The first submission shall be made for the first week ending January 6, 2019.

 

Stock brokers shall preserve the aforementioned records for such periods as stipulated by the relevant Acts, Rules, Regulations and various circulars issued from time to time.

 

Stock brokers may further note that non-maintenance of Register of Securities, Holding Statement, Bank Book and Client Ledger in the prescribed format is a violation of the provisions of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Rules 1957 / Regulations of the Exchange and will attract penal action as per Rule 1 and 2 of Chapter IV of BSE Rules.
