In pursuance of the announcement made by the Finance Minister in his Budget Speech in February 2005, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) established the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) in Mumbai.
 
SEBI, by establishing NISM, has articulated the desire expressed by the Indian government to promote securities market education and research.
 
Towards accomplishing the desire of Government of India and vision of SEBI, NISM has launched an effort to deliver financial and securities education at various levels and across various segments in India and abroad. To implement its objectives, NISM has established six distinct schools to cater the educational needs of various constituencies such as investor, issuers, intermediaries, regulatory staff, policy makers, academia and future professionals of securities markets. 
 
NISM brings out various publications on securities markets with a view to enhance knowledge levels of participants in the securities industry.
 
NISM is mandated to develop and implement certification examinations for professionals employed in various segments of the Indian securities markets. 
 

 

 

Revision of Fees: Fees for all mandatory certification Examination except NISM Series V-B  Mutual Fund foundation Certification Examination stands revised from Rs.1000/- to Rs.1250/- per enrollment with effect from January 28, 2013, i.e. all candidates enrolling on or after mid night of January 27, 2013 must be charged Rs.1250/- per enrollment. Similarly, candidates enrolling through offline mode must be charged Rs.1250/- per enrollment with effect from 28th January 2013.

 

Issuance of Electronic Certificates:  Issuance of Physical certificates be discontinued from January 28, 2013. Certificates will be issued to candidates only in electronic mode (in downloadable PDF format) through email after receiving approval from NISM.

 

Issuance of Workbook: Issuance of physical workbooks discontinued from January 28, 2013. Workbook will be issued to enrolled candidates only in electronic format (in downloadable PDF mode) thru email ID submitted by the candidates at a time of enrollment."

 

NISM has authorized the below mentioned entity for sale, distribution and dispatch of NISM workbooks at an all inclusive price of Rs.150/-(Rupees One Hundred and Fifty only). Rs.20/- will be charged additionally in case of workbooks to be dispatched to non-serviceable PIN codes.
