BSE launches Web based RTA portal for System Driven Disclosures

Mumbai, Friday, January 1, 2016: Today BSE launches web based RTA portal for System Driven Disclosures for Depositories and Registrars and Share Transfer Agents.  As per SEBI Circular dated December 1, 2015 it had notified the introduction of system driven disclosures in securities market.

Under this initiative, SEBI has initiated a system involving the Stock Exchanges, Depositories and Registrars and Share Transfer Agents (RTAs) for generating system based disclosures under Takeover Regulations and Insider Trading Regulations based on acquisition /disposal of shares by promoters / promoter group and pledge of equity shares by them.

In the initial phase, disclosures for promoter shareholders will be generated by the RTAs, based on the change in holdings of these shareholders, and the same would be submitted to the exchanges for dissemination on their website.

In order to facilitate the submission of disclosures by the RTAs, BSE has put in place a Web based portal for uploading of the files by RTAs to the Exchange. The portal is user friendly while being equipped with appropriate security features. The portal is available for use by the RTAs from January 1, 2016.

BSE would be disseminating these disclosures on its website separately under the section Corporates à Disclosures for easy viewing by the investors.  

We are sure that this facility launched by BSE at the initiative of SEBI will result in more accurate, speedier and higher levels of disclosure, in the interests of investors.
