Appointment of MD & CEO

Mumbai, November 02, 2012 : The Chairman, Shri S. Ramadorai and the Board of Directors of BSE Limited (BSE) are pleased to announce the appointment of Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan, currently working as Interim CEO, as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.) of BSE Limited.

A rigorous process was undertaken with the help of Selection Committee made of eminent persons and Egon Zender International, a leading international Search Firm in the selection process.

Necessary regulatory approval from Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has been received for the same.

Brief Profile:

Ashish joined BSE Limited as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2009 and presently works as the Interim Chief Executive Officer (from May 2012). At BSE, he has played a key role in helping the CEO bring about significant change especially in the technology up gradation and worked closely with the team to develop innovative products. He has made a significant contribution to regulatory issues at BSE.

Ashish is a member of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Jabalpur. He serves on Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), PNG on Information Technology, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)’s Primary Market Advisory Committee(PMAC).

In his last role before joining BSE, Ashish worked as the President and Group Chief Information Officer of Reliance Industries Limited. He was ranked amongst the top CIOs in the world by several magazines and institutions from 2005-2009.

Ashish holds a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay (1989) and PGDBM from IIM Calcutta (1991).
