SubjectHigh speed Ethernet links to Market participants for providing enhanced market updates, in addition to the existing 2mbps links.
Content

Market participants are aware that, BSE has been enhancing and upgrading its infrastructure from time to time. These efforts are directed towards providing cost effective managed telecom services. With recently announced changes in trading platform, BSE will be in position to offer enhanced market picture updates (EMDI). This will be in addition to existing feeds (NFCAST) provided on the existing 2Mbps lines. It is estimated that the optional EMDI feeds will consume upto 6mbps bandwidth in short term and around 40mbps bandwidth in long term. Market participants wishing to have the EMDI feeds would need higher bandwidth lower latency communication links with BSE.
Table below gives rough estimates for the feeds: -

2Mbps Users (NFCAST)
Ethernet Users (EMDI)
Equities
Aggregate Multicast of 1.2 mbps
6mbps to 10mbps
Derivatives
3mbps to 5mbps
