Taxes Department - Issuing of Contract Notes or Memorandum – Deduction of Stamp duty – Proforma for stamp duty statements for monthly and quarterly submission by all the Registered Brokers in respect of payment of stamp duty   chargeable pursuant to Article (40) of the Schedule to The Kerala Stamp Act, 1959 and as per Rule 19 A of the Kerala Stamp Rules, 1960.

Trading members of the Exchange are hereby informed that Mr. P. Marapandiyan, Principal Secretary to Government of Kerala vide its letter No.13179/E2/09/T.D. dated the 17th July, 2009, has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange Limited that Government of Kerala pursuant to Article (40) of the Schedule to The Kerala Stamp Act, 1959 and as per Rule 19 A of the Kerala Stamp Rules, 1960, the Members/Brokers (trading Members) of the Stock Exchange or Commodity Exchange are required to submit Form-A in respect of Monthly payment of Stamp Duty having Registered Office in Kerala and Form-B in respect of Monthly payment of Stamp Duty having Registered Office outside Kerala.

The information regarding submission of Form-A and Form-B and regarding payment of stamp duty is mentioned in the abovementioned letter.

A copy of the letter dated 17th July, 2009, alongwith its enclosures received from Principal Secretary to Government of Kerala is enclosed herewith for the information of the trading members.

Trading Members are requested to comply with the requirement in respect of payment of stamp duty and for any clarification in the matter are requested to contact officials of the Taxes (E) Department, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
