| Exchange Disseminated Time 24/10/2016 16:19:27 | The Exchange had sought clarification from Vedanta Ltd with respect to news article appearing in The Financial Express on October 15, 2016 titled "Vedanta suspends work at Bicholim mine in Goa"
Vedanta Ltd replied stating "We wish to inform that Sesa Mining Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of the Company, had suspended the work at Bicholim mines due to union agitation / activism. You may please note that this a temporary closure of operations in the interest of safety and security of all employees at the Bicholim Mines.
We would like to further bring to your notice that the Bicholim Mine is one of the many mines operated by the Subsidiaries of the Company and the temporary suspension of the said mine does not in any way impact the business deliverables." |
