BSE Network to Help Gujarat Quake Areas The Gujarat Earthquake has brought about untold calamity and grief to the nation leaving over 15000 dead and innumerable people injured. The quake has also resulted in loss of communication between the survivors in Gujarat and the relatives world wide. In order to establish connectivity between the survivors and their relatives/friends, BSE has put its national trading network to use by creating a system which will allow the affected people in Gujarat to reach out to their relatives anywhere. BSE is connected live to their Members through the VSAT network in most parts of Gujarat. We have devised an application that would allow members to feed data about survivors along with their messages to their near and dear along with contact information if any. This information is posted real-time on http://helpline.bseindia.com for relatives to know the whereabouts of the survivors. Besides this, BSE has also set up a help-desk, which will try and call up relatives of the survivors to inform them about their whereabouts. Members of BSE are requested to contact the Exchange Helpdesk for details. The data form for this is extensive and also allows for sending messages or help needed from relatives. We exhort the press, news channels and other media to spread the word to people in Gujarat to contact the nearest Broker member from BSE so that they can keep their relatives posted. Please help us in maximum utilisation of this facility and help the cause.
