Balaji Telefilms Ltd., a company promoted by Shri Jeetendra Kapoor, well-known thespian and Ms. Ekta kapoor, will get listed for trading on BSE from 22nd November, 2000.

A pre-listing function was held on 20th November, 2000 to introduce the company to the BSE broker-members. Balaji Telefilms being listed on BSE is a sign of new trend of corporatisation and professionalisation of the Rs.8000-crore film industry. On the occasion, Shri Jeetendra Kapoor, Chairman of the company, and his team made a presentation to the BSE members on its plans as well as present and future projects.

Balaji Telefilms had come out with its Initial public Offer (IPO) in the month of October, 2000. The issue comprised of Book Building portion of 25.20 lakh shares (90% of the issue) and Fixed price portion of 2,80,000 shares(10% of the issue) for retail investors. The company's post issue capital works out to Rs.11.29 crores. JM Morgan Stanley, IL&FS and Triumph International Finance India Ltd. were the lead managers while Karvy Consultants Ltd. are the Registrars to the Issue.

The success in marketing and promoting the company, it is expected, would bring more and more companies from ICE category to the capital markets.
