Bse Opens Investor Service Centre At Kolkata

In a significant move to expand its investor services nationwide, The Stock Exchange, Mumbai (BSE) inaugurated an exclusive centre for investor services in Kolkata on September 19, 2003. The Centre was inaugurated by Shri S.C.Das Executive Director, Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Outside Mumbai, the Exchange already has Investor Service Centres in Delhi and Cochin and has plans for all major financial centres in the country. The Investor Service Centre in the metropolis of Kolkata marks a major development in expanding the scope and reach of BSE services to investors located in the eastern parts of India and serving them at their doorstep.

Investor Service Centres offer a complete range of services to investors including:

  • Providing time bound and personalised services with respect to equity, derivatives, and debt.
  • Acting as an information centre and a single window to answer all queries related to stock markets.
  • Accepting and redressing investor grievances
  • Selling of BSE's publications as well as free distribution of informative and educative materials.
  • Organising investor awareness and other training programmes.
  • Organising presentations/ lectures/ seminars on the Indian capital market.
  • Providing of BSE On-Line Trading (BOLT) terminals for viewing the transactions of the Exchange.

BSE, a forerunner in creating investor awareness, has conducted 125 programmes in the financial year 2002-2003 across the country and has planned many more in the current financial year.

The Exchange is also an active partner in the Securities Market Awareness Campaign launched by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
