PROBLEM IN TWS THROUGH DOV NETWORK
Normal trading system at the BSE started in the morning at the scheduled time. However, at about 10.10 a.m., problems were reported by the members on DOV segment of the network, though V-SAT and Ethernet network within the exchange premises have been working satisfactorily. The problem appears to have arisen due to excessive broadcast traffic coming on DOV segment of the network. In order to solve the problem, broadcast on DOV network was temporarily discontinued at around 12.30 p.m., as a result of which TWS (Trader Work Stations) in this segment were able to trade slower than the normal speed. During this process, the price data feed to the news agencies viz., Reuters, Bloomberg, etc., were also got disconnected, as they were also on the same network. The problem is still under investigation and efforts are being made to find the exact cause and to solve the problem. Till the problem is solved, TWS on DOV network will be facing the problem and the concerned members are being advised through dissemination of information on the BOLT network and the data feed on Reuters/Bloomberg may not be available.
