The Stock Exchange, Mumbai launches
The ET-BSE Investors Year Book

A step by step approach to Investment Avenues

The Stock Exchange, Mumbai in line with its quest to enhance safety and security features in Capital Market mechanism and ensure the highest degree of protection to the investor today launched the first of its kind “The ET- BSE Investors Yearbook 2000-01”. The comprehensive volume of information on the Indian Capital Market to a broad spectrum of Investors across the country was launched by Shri P. Subramanyam, Chairman - Unit Trust of India. The Year Book is a joint initiative taken by The Stock Exchange, Mumbai and The Economic Times.

The book contains a wealth of information on a variety of financial instruments covering Primary & Secondary Capital Markets to Bank Deposits to Mutual Funds to Credit Cards to Personal Finance to Insurance and Tax Planning. The Investor Yearbook 2000-01 provides an insight on the functioning of the markets, alternate investment avenues, their pros and cons and optimizing return on investments .

The ET-BSE Investors Yearbook 2000-01 also has articles authored by eminent finance professionals in a reader-friendly format, with subjective and objective aspects of their area of expertise. The book is segmented in three sections as per the Risk & Reward on Investment.

The first section of the book covers in-depth the Equity Market and how to create wealth through equities. The section also covers Public Issues, Foreign Listings, Basics of Trading, Dematerialisation, Internet Trading and Share Analysis and Valuation.

The second section of the book traces the Mutual Fund Industry, their importance to the economy, significance for investors and plethora of options available like equity funds and income funds.

The last part, section 3 covers the Fixed Income Investments like Government securities, Small savings, company deposits, Tax Saving Bonds and Post office deposits. Important aspects like Risk Management of life and property through Insurance schemes, Personal Finance options like Housing Loans, Auto Loans and Credit cards have also been covered extensively. The book closes with a detailed article on tax planning giving an insight into dealing with income tax provisions for resident Indian Investors and valuable information and suggestions on tax planning. To facilitate reference on various subjects the book has a user friendly Glossary at the end.

The ET-BSE Investor Yearbook 2000-01goes a step ahead by offering futuristic trends & developments over and above the existing state of the financial markets.
