Mr. Shekhar Datta is the new Chairman of Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd

The Board of Directors of Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (BSE), has appointed Mr. Shekhar Datta as the Chairman of BSE.

Profile:
Mr. Datta is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from London and a Fellow of Indian Management Association. He holds directorships in various companies and is the former Chairman of Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited and Lombardini India Private Limited. He is the former Managing Director & President of Greaves Cotton Limited and former Director of IDBI Limited and Crompton Greaves Limited. He was the President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) and Indo – Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He was appointed as a Director on the Board with effect from June 20, 2006.
