The Governing Board of the Stock Exchange, Mumbai condoled the sad demise of eminent jurist Shri Nani Palkhivala who was also a renowned Economist. The Chairman and Members of the Governing Board of the Exchange paid rich tributes to Shri Nani Palkhivala for his invaluable contribution particularly to the spheres of law and finance. The following resolution was passed by the Governing Board at its meeting held on 12^th December 2002.

"BSE condoles the sad demise of one of the greatest Jurist Shri Nani Palkhivala. Shri Palkhivala was the Chairman emeritus of ACC and was a director in several companies including Tata Group of companies. Shri Nani Palkhivala was a pioneer in simplification of Budget proposals not only to professionals but also for the common man for several decades and a great exponent of human rights and free enterprise. In the death of Shri Nani Palkhivala, the Capital Market has lost a great visionary, eminent jurist and a fine human being. May his soul rest in peace".
