BSE COMMENCES MOCK TRADING ON CARRY FORWARD IN ROLLING SETTLEMENTS

The Stock Exchange, Mumbai has commenced mock trading on Carry Forward in Rolling Settlements (CFRS) from 31st October, 2000. With SEBI permitting the Stock Exchanges to provide Carry Forward facility in Rolling Settlements (CFRS), BSE becomes the first Stock Exchange to start mock trading on CFRS. The mock trading is being carried out presently in 15 B1 group scrips and 5 A group scrips identified by the Exchange.

The mock trading initially commenced in 15 scrips under B1 group listed out by SEBI in its press release dated 13th October, 2000. However, since the volumes are low in B1 group scrips and are not sufficient for full testing of the system at the member back offices, 5 scrips under A group were also included from 6th November, 2000 for the mock trading. The A group scrips available for mock trading are Reliance Industries Ltd., Infosys Technologies, Zee Telefilms, MTNL, Satyam Computers.

The market participation in this mock trading exercise has so far been satisfactory and will help SEBI to take a view on introducing Rolling Settlement in A group scrips.
