BSE UPGRADES ITS BOLT SYSTEM TO INPUT CLIENT CODES

The Stock Exchange, Mumbai has upgraded its BSE Online Trading System (BOLT) to enable its members to input Client codes at the order entry level. With this, BSE becomes the first stock Exchange in the country to comply with SEBI requirements. SEBI has directed all the Stock Exchanges to make necessary modifications in their respective trading software so that the client code becomes mandatory at the member level. The modifications have to be effected with in three months from the date of SEBI notification dated July 27, 2000.

BSE has made suitable modifications in the BOLT system and this feature was introduced on 23rd October, 2000. As a result of this, any type of order entered onto the BOLT system by any member will have to contain the client code and the system does not accept the order without it.
