CHANGES IN CIRCUIT FILTER The Stockmarkets have been witnessing a phase of high volatility for the last several days. BSE has been keeping a watch on the prices of the scrips, which are moving beyond reasonable levels and taking surveillance actions like imposition of Special Margins and reduction in circuit filter etc. It has also been observed that a large number of illiquid scrips especially in B2 and Z Groups are getting actively traded. In order to curtail the volatility in the scrips which are quoting upto Rs.20, it has been decided that effective from Settlement No.43 starting from January 10, 2000, the circuit filter in the scrips would be revised as under:
The scrips quoting Rs.20 and above would, however, continue to attract the existing Daily Circuit filter of 8% as prescribed by SEBI. (A.N. Joshi) Saturday, January 8, 2000 |
