MEDIA RELEASE

On KGN Industries Ltd.

As per the prevalent policy, on the opening day of trading of the scrips post revocation of suspension, there are no price bands, in order to allow the market to discover the price of the scrip.

Hence, in the case of KGN Industries Ltd. (scrip code : 531612), which opened for trading post revocation of suspension on May. 21, 2008, the price bands were kept open. This particular scrip is under Trade to Trade (T to T) category for settlement wherein netting of trading is not permitted

During the early hours of trading, it was discovered that orders were being placed at an unrealistic price. In order not to distort the price discovery process, as few orders were being placed at unrealistic prices, the trading of the scrip was suspended at 12.20 hrs as a proactive surveillance measure.

The closing price of Rs.5,216.30 has been arrived as per the existing methodology but taking into consideration the entire trading duration.

The trading will resume tomorrow as usual with applicable price band.

Further investigations are being carried out to examine the placing of orders at unrealistic prices and appropriate action, if any, will be initiated against the concerned entities.
