Mr. Jagdish Capoor re-elected as Chairman of BSE

The Board of Directors of Bombay Stock Exchange Limited at its meeting held on Saturday, 8th November, 2008 has re-elected Mr. Jagdish Capoor as the Chairman of BSE.

 

Profile:

 

Mr. Jagdish Capoor, age 69, is a Public Interest Director on the Board since August, 2005.  He holds Masters Degree in Commerce and is a Fellow of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.  Mr. Capoor was the Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India.  While with Reserve Bank of India, he was the Chairman of Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation and Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Limited. He was also on the Boards of Export-Import Bank of India, National Housing Bank, National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development and State Bank of India. He thus has rich and varied experience in the Banking Sector. Presently, he is the Chairman of HDFC Bank Limited and holds directorships in various companies. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management, Indore. He is also a Trustee of the Stock Exchange Investors' Protection Fund.
